Re: Mascot fee just £700 with West Ham
It should be free of charge at every club...

Another reason to hate modern football.

It's O.K to pay a carthorse who can't pass a ball or trap a bag of cement 50K a week yet it's not possible to let a kid run out as a mascot for nothing?

Shite Shite Shite

To be fair. If this got a nipper into the Hammers for life, ruining their weekends and making everything a huge cunting rollacoaster of an experience then it would be cheap at half the price.

Re: Mascot fee just £700 with West Ham
It’s always been expensive hasn’t it? Long before the current regime. It’s gone up in line with everything else as per every other club.

Nonsense, you don't get a kit for starters, let alone a ball.

It's £700 for Cat A games.

This is absolute bollocks. Paid for my step-son to be a mascot earlier this season, cost £125. For that he got a full kit, a ball, goodie bag, and we both met all the players before the game.

A little further digging shows that we were auctioning off the mascot spots for charity in the 2006 FA Cup run,

Re: Mascot fee just £700 with West Ham
I'd rather they did it for free but we've always charged a bundle for it. Back to the 80s when Arsenal drew a Junior Gunners name out of the hat we were charging a few hundred quid. They should pick a few deserving causes every year. Kids who have been sick or bereaved or achieved something like winning a game of slaps at school.

Hold up. People pay for their kids to be mascots at West Ham ?

That is fucking shameful if true. Should be a ballot among ST's kids, with some free for families who can't afford it. What a shower of cunts.

A little digging on the journalism is interesting.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/premier-league-clubs-charging-children-13331477

This article in September has Everton top with £718. I guess they could have dropped it altogether in the last few months.

A precursor to this was the Guardian study from 2014, which has us top with £600

Re: Mascot fee just £700 with West Ham
I’m not 100% sure this is true, not taking the boards side of things, but I genuinely know 3 people who have had kids as mascots.

Two got picked out randomly, the other was charged 300 which included the day, 3 tickets including the mascots.

I think my mate who paid said if you want, and choose a certain game of preference, it costs more.

And I know for a fact Arsenal do charge, my nephew was mascot at Arsenal West Ham, I’m his god father.. i was there that night and it wasn’t free.
